The Springville Lions Club was originally chartered in November of 1946 and has been continuously active since that time. The membership meets twice monthly throughout the year. We have several fundraising activities during the year to support our mission of service to the local community. We help needy individuals in our local community defray the cost of vision exams, eye glasses and hearing aids (amount to be determined by need following written application). We maintain a well-stocked loan closet of gently used personal care and mobility aides (canes, crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, bath/tub chairs, commodes). We also provide holiday meals to needy individuals in the local community at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. Organizations / Activities we help support either through monitary donations or manpower: Lions Diagnostic Eye Center (Ira Ross Eye Institute/ Buffalo,NY), Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service, Braille Group of Buffalo, Leader Dogs for the Blind, Scholarships to local high school graduates, Camp Badger (summer camp for students with disabilities), Relay for Life (Cancer Society), Cystic Fybrosis Walk, Community Drug Safety Program.
